What To Know

What is the Leadership Intensive? 

The Summer Leadership is a two-day Intensive, held in Salt Lake City, Utah, where participants will garner skills in both business acumen and leadership through a series of keynote addresses, workshops, round table discussions, and activities.

Each young woman will be paired with a professional mentor from the Women's ALI Mentor Alliance. These are professionals that can help participants better understand how to navigate their specific field and leverage future educational and career opportunities. Scheduled mentor check-ins following the Leadership Intensive will be encouraged as we seek to foster meaningful professional connections for our program alumni.

Who can participate?

The 2019 Summer Leadership Intensive educational programs are designed specifically for high school juniors and seniors (age 16-18) and collegiate undergraduate women (up to age 23).

 

We seek to include women from all fields of the fine arts, including (but not limited to) music, dance, theatre, and visual arts. Diversity will be sought for and celebrated. The Intensive begins on Wednesday evening, JUNE 26th and concludes on Friday, JUNE 28th.

What is the
cost?

2019 Summer Leadership Intensive tuition costs are $275 per applicant and cover educational curriculum access, meals/snacks for the duration of the conference, and supplies. Additional housing costs will apply if you select our Salt Lake City housing option.

If you would like to apply for a scholarship, you will need to fill out the Scholarships section of the application. You will be asked to provide contact information for a recommender and respond to two short essay questions.

Why
participate?

Similar to athletes that must exercise a singular focus in order to obtain success, artists apply a focused dedication to develop their craft. The Women’s ALI Summer Leadership Intensive offers an attractive supplement to those hours of committed practice and is designed to help young women learn to navigate the business side of their career effectively.

 

Whether you intend to run a studio, move into administration, or utilize your artistic talents in another discipline, the skills you acquire at the Intensive will serve you at every career juncture and in daily life!

When and how do I apply?

Applications open February 20, 2019 and are due by MAY 20, 2019. Early application is strongly encouraged to secure program placement.

You will need to upload a current photo, supply samples of your work, and respond to both informational and essay questions. 

​
